FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

What is Acupuncture used to treat?

Acupuncture is a holistic form of medicine that aims to treat the underlying imbalances that cause disease.

Acupuncture is primarily concerned with correcting the imbalance that is the root cause of illness or dis-ease.

Acupuncture is also widely used as a preventative medicine.

Acupuncture is highly effective as a Complementary medicine to Western medicine. And is safe for those taking pharmaceuticals, though one aim of CF-EA treatment is to, over time, eliminate the need for pharmaceutical use and return the body to its natural state.  Any elimination of medication should be done gradually and with the support of your physician.

The World Health Organization recognizes Acupuncture as being effective in treating a wide range of health issues.

Is Acupuncture safe?

Yes. Acupuncture is one of the oldest and most widely practiced systems of medicine in the world. When practiced by a well-trained professional, acupuncture is absolutely safe.

Does Acupuncture hurt?

Acupuncture needles are as thin as a hair, and minimally invasive.  Most people do experience some sensation while being needled though they find that it is quick, easily tolerated, and well worth the outcome.

Are needles reused?

No. Acupuncture needles are single use and are disposed of after being used.

How many treatments will I need?

Everyone can benefit from routine Acupuncture treatment, the frequency of which varies depending on your stage of healing and individual needs.  An initial six to eight weekly treatments is recommended to boost your body’s natural resources.  Once this initial course of treatment is complete, a revised treatment schedule will be discussed.
